OpenAI’s Sora video generation is no longer available. The Sora web and app experiences were discontinued on April 26, 2026. OpenAI’s deprecations page lists September 24, 2026 as the date the Videos API and the Sora 2 models, including sora-2 and sora-2-pro, were removed from the API. OpenAI told developers about the removal on March 24.
What to do
- If you used Sora, look at the alternatives in our AI model tracker: Veo 3.1, Kling 3.0, Seedance 2.0, MiniMax H3, Runway and FLUX 3 Video all produce short clips with audio or editing tools.
