Runway’s product changelog shows a run of additions in the first half of October 2026, mostly third-party models made available inside Runway MCP for paid plans.
What happened
- October 2: Seedance 2.5 Draft mode in Agent, for fast 480p drafts with post-generation enhancement (all plans). Ideogram 4.5 is also listed as supported in Runway MCP.
- October 12: Seedream 5.0 Flash in Runway MCP, generating 1K or 2K images from text or up to 10 reference images (paid plans).
- October 14: Fish Audio Drama 3 in Runway MCP, turning scripts into voiceovers with seven voices and delivery cues (paid plans).
- October 15: BiRefNet v2 background removal and Mirelo SFX 2.0 in Runway MCP. With SFX 2.0 you give the agent a clip and describe the sound, and it returns a separate audio track (paid plans).
- October 9: Project credit caps for Enterprise workspaces; generation pauses when the cap is reached.
What to know
Runway frames these as tools its agent can call, so one workflow can cover image, voice, sound effects and video. Availability differs by plan, so check the changelog before relying on a feature.
Why it matters
Draft modes and add-on audio models make it cheaper to test an idea before spending credits on a final clip. Our Runway page and Runway vs Veo cover the core video models, and the AI video prompt guide shows how to write the shots.
