Gemini 4 Argon arrives in the Gemini app for Google AI Pro and Ultra

Google says Gemini 4 Argon is now in the Gemini app for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers, with a new Tasks mode and connections to more than 40 apps.

On October 13, 2026, Google said Gemini 4 Argon is now available in the Gemini app. Google names Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers as the people who can use it. It follows the September 30 announcement, when Argon was limited to trusted cyber defenders.

What to know

  • Google says Argon brings frontier reasoning and better performance on complex tasks, with more direct answers, less hedging, less repetition and fewer clichés.
  • On longer tasks, Google says it shares its progress more often.
  • Google highlights major coding improvements. You can switch between chat and coding using Google Antigravity’s agentic coding interface, which Google says is now in the Gemini macOS app.
  • A new Tasks mode is a toggle in the main chat window. Google says Gemini can keep working on tasks when you are not at your computer, across Google apps.
  • Google says Gemini connects to more than 40 apps, including Instacart, OpenTable, Adobe and Shopify.
  • The post does not list usage limits, context sizes or benchmark results, so check the Gemini tool page and Google’s plan details before relying on it.

Why it matters

Argon moves from a restricted security rollout to paying consumers, which is the first time most people can try it. If you write prompts for assistants, Tasks mode rewards clear goals and a finished-state description. See our prompt workflow guide and the ChatGPT vs Gemini comparison.
